Equipment Maintenance App
This project involved designing a mobile app feature that enabled users to easily install and maintain farm monitoring equipment on their property. The goal was to deliver clear, step-by-step instructions and a user-friendly interface so that even those with no prior experience could complete installation and maintenance tasks safely and confidently. As the lead UX designer, I was responsible for user research, interviews, prototyping, usability testing, and facilitating collaboration among key stakeholders.
Approach

We began by gathering insights from installation and maintenance experts through interviews, equipment walkthroughs, and in-field demonstrations. This research helped us identify key pain points, common user errors, valuable device metrics, and opportunities for hardware improvements. From there, we moved into design iterations, collaborating closely with the technicians throughout the process. After several rounds of refinement, we developed a testable prototype and were ready to move into trial testing.

Final Results and Takeaways

While the project has not yet been released, the process so far has been a valuable learning experience. I’ve gained technical knowledge related to equipment maintenance, as well as developed techniques to create clear instructional content and simplify complex processes into intuitive, user-friendly flows.
